London Calling! An Evening with Barlow & Smith

London Calling! An Evening with Barlow & Smith

Tuesday, October 15, 2019 @ 9:30PMTue, Oct 15, 2019 @ 9:30PM

The Duplex, 61 Christopher Street @ 7th Ave, New York, NY

Come along for a lively evening of 'contemporary, gorgeous musical theatre' (The Radio Collective 3) as London-based songwriters Barlow & Smith make their American Debut.

The evening will include a selection of their best songs from various projects, under the expert musical direction of Manuel Bagorro, and featuring special guest performers.

Songwriters Bella Barlow and A.C. Smith have been making their mark on the UK Musical Theatre Scene. Last year, they were shortlisted for the Sondheim Society's Best New Song Prize, and premiered their new show 'Lock & Key' at VAULT Festival ('Song after song impresses...an absolute little gem of a show' - The Musical Theatre Review). They have previously developed new work through the West End's Criterion Theatre and Old Vic New Voices.

Previous UK Cabaret engagements include The Globe Theatre, London Festival of Cabaret, Upstairs at the Arts, Theatre Royal Stratford East, The Pheasantry, The Other Palace/St James Theatre, and even the Queen's 90th Birthday Gala at Theatre Royal Haymarket, where their song was performed by two-time Olivier Award winner Janie Dee.

Their album of original holiday music 'Christmas in the City' was produced by two-time BBC Jazz Vocalist of the Year Ian Shaw, and is available on iTunes.

They are Co-Founders (with London Playwrights' Workshop) of the Women's Musical Theatre Initiative, which aims to support women creating musical theatre and improve equal representation.

Join us for some great music and British humour - a debut night to remember!
